My Lord, My God

There is a story of three men

in Heaven’s waiting room.

Each awaiting judgment

of happiness or gloom.

Each one called to Judgment’s seat

a man behind the desk.

One question to be posed of each,

the answer to their quest.

You might say – for each of us

that room will hold the price.

As we await that question –

“What do you know of Christ?”

When I am called to Judgment’s seat,

Him, sitting in that chair.

May I know Him – oh, so well,

I’ll kneel and praise Him there.
